It's a habit that developed (also I think it fits optically).Īs for the adventurers: To me they are arcane focused. The early events are certainly the best way to get many magic schools started, especially when you are seriously unlucky not to get the base classes.Yes, the banner is nature element, which is another reason why I tend to put it in the greenhouse. Herbalism and sacred magic opens up midwife futures, which will lead to larger amounts of applicants in the future. Sure caring for beasts and herbalism aren't flashy, but they offer some decent futures. Nature is a magic type I don't care about too much, but would describe it as the "boring, but practical" type. I always pick that option as well, both because I like being on good terms with the peasants and because it's a good way to get nature classes started. I try to get all magic types as soon as possible. But this is more motivated by establishing a good relationship with the villagers than the mana itself.ĭuring the other events, I try to obtain the magic types that I did not get in the random draws. Regardless of random, I often start with nature because I select the nature option in the villager's welcoming event. Originally posted by Solarius:I don't have a preference, I just go with the random cards I get. And a lot of really cool futures require different magic types from different subjects (especially thaumaturge). Neat thing is that all five subjects are useful and have good cards (I ignored shadow in my first level and later realized, that janitors exist. A well developed potions classroom even produces alchemy potions, which makes it even easier to draw more cards there. Alchemy also has pretty neat cards and futures, that will make it easy to get potions and ingredients. It can be easy to gain arcana mana, once you got it running and its crystal staff is useful for ALL students. Also the alchemy deck has some useful objects, like the goldfish that was mentioned before.Īs has been mentioned before: Arcana has some neat bonuses as well. Recently alchemy also got high on my priority list, which is also due to personal preference, as this one seems to be the "working class" subject which gives solid job futures and has quite useful subjects (enchantment? Potions? Runes? All three seem useful as f*ck!). Arcana being considered a theoretical and academic class also helps. It's more a case of personal preference, since I like elementalism magic the most and would study the hell out of it, if I could. I tend to go for arcana first, though for no particular gameplay reasons. I admit I still think the Nature and Light schools are perhaps the best for dungeons (armor, counter, healing, stacking shields and ramping up damage), but Arcane *does* have that auto-dodge and loot booster passives. The Temporal room reliably getting more and more efficiency might balance that out though. And Arcane is one of the schools that has a future that boosts the specialty chance ("Arcane Sculptor").Īdmittedly, no teacher can be a downside later, as you can have really boosted teachers helping out the learning speed. Thinking about it, the Temporal room's advancements are perhaps my favorite set - extend the learning period of students *and* compounding efficiency. The Staff is probably one of the best bits of equipment, and the Sign rivals it. Archmage requires 4 schools at 4 or higher luckily we had that free boost to their learning from staff, right? :P (Hello Psion) requires 2 Arcana schools at 5 + 1 Alchemy. This gets even more stronger when you realize that some of the strongest futures. You now have students that learn all the other schools 25% faster + delay evil no matter the race. The main equipment you'd want to use is the Arcane Crystal Staff (25% bonus to learning is thick.) and the Sign of the Old Ones (This one can instantly trigger if you just upgrade portal room + put in door/demon painting) As of right now, it's one of the more consistent schools to get good futures in just due to the fact it has amazing synergy, less reliant on teachers (one teacher can delay quite a few students from learning), and great equipment.
